2026 edition

MySwing 2026 was easily one of the best-run WSDC events I've attended. Everything felt intentionally designed for dancers, from the facilities to the community experience. The venue itself is exceptional. The ballroom uses one of the best dance floors I've experienced (the same style used at Asia Open), extended wall-to-wall around columns to maximise dance space. The ballroom also had excellent support facilities: unlimited water, tea and coffee, self-service recovery equipment, massage and physio, breakfast immediately outside the ballroom, plentiful seating, elevated DJ booth, well-positioned lighting and speakers, plus additional practice rooms with the same flooring only moments away. Being directly connected to one of Kuala Lumpur's largest malls also made food, coffee and shopping effortless throughout the weekend. The event ran smoothly thanks to an outstanding volunteer team and featured excellent music from both international and local DJs. One thing that stood out was how much MySwing invests in developing its own community, with structured programmes not only for dancers but also DJs, teachers and organisers. Workshop formats are 90 minutes, which gave instructors more time for explanation, individual feedback and recap. I also appreciated scheduled warm-up time before competitions and the opportunity to participate in mock judging alongside certified judges—something I'd never experienced before. Perhaps the most memorable aspect wasn't a competition or workshop, but the atmosphere. The Community Leaders Conference, the tribute to the pioneers of WCS in the region, and seeing dancers still filling the floor until 5-6am every night spoke volumes about the culture they've built. If your priorities are excellent facilities, plenty of social dancing, strong organisation and experiencing one of the fastest-growing WCS communities in Asia-Pacific, MySwing is an easy recommendation.
