BSR was my first event in 2022 just a month after I started dancing and it's what got me hooked and I was going every year. Looking back it's not the event itself but our local community that was the real reason. 2025 was the first time that BSR had to share the weekend with another event close by and it was noticeable - quite a few dancers that I would have expected there decided to go elsewhere. Really the single biggest problem is the venue. It's too small, there is no AC, it only has one bathroom per gender and did I mention it's absolutely way too small? It pains me to say this but I can't with clean conscience recommend BSR to anyone out of town considering the high price point and no party passes. The DJs are great, Lee is an amazing MC, Theresa keeps comps running as smoothly as possible. There are also some fun comps that have good entertainment value. The socials can be tough with the limited space, but after a certain point in the night you get more room. Do with this what you will, it has a potential to be a really fun event, I just really wish they would change the venue which is becoming too tight even for our local saturday socials.

Very difficult to snatch one of the few tickets, and even more difficult to find space on the dance floor at the location ... or to use the bathroom... but still, I wouldn't want to miss an event on home turf. Floor quality is excellent, but the venue does get quite hot. Venue also gets closed around dinner time for a couple hours every day. J'em's workshops are always amazing; I didn't attend other workshops this time. Marshaling for comps is in the stairwell where it's freezing and the lights kept turning off because of the motion detectors :D
