Pretty good event. Really like the hotel for this event, it has a fridge, great layout for room parties, they stream the ballroom to the TVs in the rooms so that you can see workshops and catch the vibe on the dancefloor during socials. Also, it's America, so the air conditioning is real and greatly appreciated on the dancefloor. The event is always really well organized and there are no auditions to worry about because you can self select which leveled workshop you want to go to (outside of the special workshops that cost more). They list the titles of the workshops so that you can pick and choose whichever one you are interested in. The consequence is that the range of levels in class can be huge but it doesn't have to be an issue. Also, at this event, pros will showcase their routines for the first time before the US Open which is a really cool preview of what to expect from them. The thing that I don't like about the event is the location. Well outside of DC and it's just plazas on top of plazas with no real sense of a local community. Still, people are super nice and there is still great food to find, just als the locals, if you can find them...
