The location of this event is pure paradise. Once you manage to get here, you don’t regret any minute of the journey - the venue is a beautiful, ornate building situated right on the shore of the lake Lac d’Annecy. The lake surrounded by mountain ranges gives you an exceptional atmosphere and experience throughout all weekend. It feels like a vacation, not an event weekend. There are small coffee spots, bakeries (do try their CROISSANTS - they taste heavenly), so it’s easy to stock up on whatever you might need. With respect to the event itself - all classes are being taught in English, which is also worth highlighting as it’s rare in France. Teaching staff did an excellent job and used all available time to teach, dedicating their time and effort by giving personal feedback to people attending the class. The ballroom has a wooden floor (a little bit more blunt than usually on French events, but it worked just fine for me), beautiful big windows with the lake view, and amazing lights during social dancing at night. People are open, friendly, asking strangers to dance, smiling at each other when passing by - loved it the previous year, and this year was no exception. It’s pretty hot in July in there, so make sure to take a fan with you. Thursday pre-party in another location by the lake started off the event in a perfect way - open air, easy to get to, great music by DJ John 😉, good floor quality; however the sand makes your shoes and hem of longer pants a little dirty. Just be mindful of that and don’t wear your most precious garment. All in all, you have to be there next year 🙌
