2025 edition

Great event, I have been to two of these so far. (Pre and post Rona) They are great value for money. There is so much on, it’s potentially hard to make choices! It is at an airport, the hotel can do ok food, but it’s not amazing. You can get Deliveroo orders and there is a local garage selling some stuff. I’d recommend doing a grocery run before heading to the hotel. The themed night is great fun and I will be back this year.

2025 edition

Second ever WCS event attended, first by this ED and in this location. Decided to stay at the venue, as a few other festivals later in the year were going to be by the same ED and with the same venue (UK Champs). Themed party was fun with good entertainment and drinks. The 'special' comp was a Hi-Lo, which paired dancers of different level. I randomly paired with an incredible Intermediate for this comp! The floor was spacious, with lots of place to rest. Floor quality felt decent, not too sticky for my suede soles. The ballroom did get warm sometimes when density was high. Accommodation was decent, food options not too accessible but delivery worked. The mix of participants was great with many continental Westies. Also first time I comped in three categories, so was very overwhelming but good. Also the guest staff were top tier; had my first workshop with Marcus & Tren and they are a different vibe altogether! This year was a non-registry, but am told the next one will be a registry event. Already signed up for it!
