The hotel is easy to reach with public transport from the airport or the train station, has little supermarket/bakery in front of it, restaurant in the hotel offers food and the bar as well. It has a small swimming pool who is perfect to relax during the event. Floor is great (it is the floor from Olivier Massart and is used at a lot of french events, but not in the south of France). There is enough space to dance. Good ratio leader/follower. A/C is good, there are also big fans and you can chill outside. Bar outside in the garden of the hotel, and there is always a general party on Saturday evening, while others dance WCS in the ballroom, so it leaves you enough space everywhere. It has a summer chill vibe, even if there are competitions, it doens't feel competitive. Very affordable hotel price, the breakfast at Novotel is better then Ibis, and Novotel also have rooms for multiple people. Will definitely come back next year!

Rolling Swing is a balanced event between social and competition. The efficiency of the JnJ is good as they do it in parallel two divisions. The organisation and schedule is good and punctual. Olivier is a great and funny MC. I like the ProShow that are held in a tight circle with audience close to the teachers. Sunday party is cut a bit short for my taste as they are packing the floor while you are dancing. The breakfast of the Novotel hotel is better than Ibis and definitely worth the price difference. Drawbacks: - not the best location for also visiting the city or other restaurants - few teachers are teaching mostly in french or you waste time by the teachers explaining in English and French - there aren't auditions. You either have points or you don't. Level 4 is a bit too low if you don't have points for people who doesn't want to compete Overall a great event.

Rolling Swing is an event that has a chill vibe, like the last vacation days, before you need to get back to work. The event is in an hotel, the Novotel, and the Ibis is in the same building, and you can go straight from the hotels (via 15m outdoor covered path) to the dance space. Hotel is easy to reach with public transport, uber etc. from the airport or train station. There is a green supermarket (Grand Frais) and bakery at the opposite of the road, restaurant and bar in the hotel also offers good food, be aware of the queue saturday after competitions and think about making a reservation. Don't forget to bring your swimwear because there is a small pool, perfect to relax during the event. Great workshops from top instructors, different levels (social and WSDC). Very good floor (Olivier Massart his floor). Enough space to dance. Ratio leader follower was perfect on Friday, Saturday a bit more followers, but didn't bother me that much. Was also a general party Saturday Night outside so that could explain the little imbalance. AC is good, but due to humidity saturday night outside, it felt a bit more warm on saturday night then on friday night. There were no big fans this year, like there were last year. Competitions were running on time and according to the schedule, sometimes even before schedule, but they waited with an extra song to be more according to the time schedule as posted. This year there was also a champion finals that were really nice to watch! On Friday at midnight they had a fun Whitney Houston challenge to stop the spin on the boom, it's not that easy, but was really fun to watch! So if you're looking for a chill last summer event, go to Rolling Swing! I will definitely come back next year!

What a great way to wrap up the summer break from dancing! The level of dancers attending was impressive, which is fantastic for social dancing. Just a heads-up: if you’re there to compete, don’t be too hard on yourself. The DJ sets were fantastic; I couldn’t stop dancing! The dance floor did get a bit sticky after 2 AM, though. It might be a bit challenging for dancers who don’t speak French. They did have an English-speaking MC this year, but once the mic goes to Oliver... Overall, it was a nice event with plenty of interesting moments, routines for inspiration, and great parties!

The event is about 20 minutes from the main train station, so it's easily accessible by public transport. The Ibis Hotel is available at an usual price. I stayed at my cousin's house, but I underestimated how much dancing in the summer heat would be, so I ended up going to a friend's room to take a shower. I will probably book a room next year. Be aware the food market and the bakery on the other side of the road aren't open on Sunday afternoons, they close at 1pm. So, if you’re on a tight budget and haven't bought any food, McDonald's, about a 10-minute walk away, is your last option. Now, let's talk about the event itself. I booked an Intermediate level Full pass, and except from Olivier & Virginie's and Allan & Alexandra's workshops, I felt that the other workshops were more at Beginner level than Intermediate. So, overall, they were below my expectations. Fun fact: we were short of 6 followers at 11am on Sunday, so they asked some Junior followers to join the lesson with us. On Saturday evening, It was a pretty good idea to hold the awards outside and let the dancers enjoy the room for themselves. Nobody danced in the Social Room during the prelim on saturday. The room was almost empty, and the couples who were there seemed to be only here to practise for their competitions rather than to dance, have fun, with random people. I'm pretty sad about that, since i do not compete yet, and i'm not really interested to just watch.
