Travelling WestieParty Pass

2026 edition

This event exceeded my expectations! I'm in love with it! Sauna swing is my happy place! And yet I did absolutely nothing, just parties, absorbing the nature around me and connecting with myself. I went there because I won the party pass and the dates matched my birthday, even thou I was thinking I will regret because of all effort and travel costs to get there. But, once I did everything was soo niiice. Beautifull nature, all forest and lakes around, and this is the way you shoud experience Finlad, I heard and I agree! I expected more of a local event, which it was, but also soo high level in vibes and organization! Yet everything was soo cozy and stress free. The organizer Rake was also giving that vibe, he was there all the time at parties, but also social dancing and even singing for us on Saturday night! Pros were also matching the lovely relaxing social vibe of the evnt <3 Love that it was more about saunas and swimming and less about the comps, only JnJ's, perfect! This year the time was a bit rainy, but still I managed to participate swimming in the lake after the Tursday Pre-party when the weather was slightly warmer! Even when it was rainy, instead of swimming, it was just nice to chill. I saw some fellow dancers reading a book and I also had mine! Temperature is generally perfect for a summer event, 10 to even 20 degres less then most of the Europe this year! Downsides: -challenging location, but with shuttle service from Tampere to the venue from organizers or even some locals who are very friendly people <3 -Just resorts in Ikaalinen with kiosk in the venue for some quick food or their restaurant, no grocery store nearby (yet, again, some locals can help with a drive to a lidl). -Some dj sets were not the best, for example on Friday the best music started when I was already tired. But I still had many gread dances and met new people in general. I would definitely love to come back here (yet, it can be expensive if I don't win a pass again xD).

Travelling WestieFull Pass

2026 edition

I loved this event! It's one of my best event experiences ever. Despite being a fairly "local" event with few foreign guests, the community is highly inclusive, creating endless opportunities to connect while swimming in the lake, enjoying the smoke sauna, or sharing breakfasts. The location is genius—beautiful, spacious, and perfect for relaxing. The spa and sauna genuinely support your well-being. Experiencing the "White Nights" here was unforgettable; it's a truly unique place. Punctuality & Flexibility. Finnish discipline shines here: if a party is scheduled for 7 PM, it actually starts then. With early starts (~ 7PM), you can dance plenty and still sleep on time. Since some parties go until morning, you can also easily join later. Great venue and floor. The hotel is very comfortable, and the dance floor is excellent. There was plenty of room—neither I nor my partners bumped into anyone, and even when it felt crowded, you could easily find space. Climate control. Being in the North, you get endless daylight without extreme heat. The main hall features massive outer gates for ventilation. Even when closed later, the hall never got uncomfortably hot or humid. Balanced schedule. Plenty of workshop options and all-level classes, but the timetable isn't overloaded, leaving time to rest. It’s also highly family-friendly for couples with kids. Challenges: - Travel: Limited direct flights and venue transport can be tricky. Fortunately, organizers are incredibly helpful, even arranging a local Westie to pick up my neighbor. - Registration: Pre-event communication, confirmations, and team contact were quite slow. Also, they don't actively maintain updates on their Facebook page (I prefer WHS communication standards). However, once the event started, everything ran flawlessly. I very recommend to attend!!!
