2026 edition

While we had a decently nice time, it just seemed lacking. Music was very hit or miss and kind of all over the place, everyone was dying from heat stroke the first night (thankfully they did get it fixed). The floor was then of course also super sticky… they had talc powder but it’s true I was worried for my knees! Also people dance SO many times in a row together it was super difficult as a foreigner to get into the floor (especially as a follower). By the time I realized the person I was wanting to ask was going to do yet ANOTHER dance with their partner, every other leader was already taken on the floor (and I’m not one to chase a leader whose going off the floor to finally be able to get a drink). I loved the idea of having a switch J&J, but it’s a bit unfair for the lower level dancers. pretty much only advanced/all stars in the finals of course. Would be nice to maybe have two levels like we do for strictly? It was nice but expensive. Ljubljana is one of my favorite cities so I still greatly enjoyed myself… but the event left me wanting more. There was nothing really special about it.

Really enjoyed the event and my time in Slovenia — the nature (and Ljubljana) is absolutely stunning. The event was very well organized, the hotel was great, and the schedule felt super convenient. Socials were sometimes a bit crowded and warm, but overall totally fine.

This was a really nice event! Schedules ran according to plan, staff was great -- i love Karin and Ludo as teachers! -- and the venue was spacious. The event took place in the event hotel, and this was quite luxurious. They also offered 2 great tours to explore the country; to Bled and to Ljubljana. I enjoyed them a lot! And lastly, the people. It was so great to see familiar face and get to meet new ones! Mostly true for every event offcourse, but still. It really made my weekend in Slovenia memorable! Few pointers: - floor were s bit too sticky, at least for me and my shoes. - competition heats were run simultanuously, which meant things went fast, but it did come as a surprise to me (maybe thats on me, but it prevented me from warming up and filming others i had promised to film); it caused a little stress ;) - it was really hot in the hotel, espacially in rooms on 'the sunny side', and the AC didn't work. When asked the reception clerk apologised but said nothing coild be done. Since the summer season had not yet begun AC wasn't working throughout the hotel.

Friday the balance lead/follow felt a bit off. The other socials were great. Overall great event

Nice event at a hotel in a great city. Nice details, great blues intensive. Floor somewhat sticky. Food options in direct proximity of the hotel limited. Bus stop directly in front of the hotel.
