2026 edition

I had an awesome experience at Swing of Music. The concept is fantastic, and the execution of the workshops and venue were top-tier. Conceptual Workshops & Auditions: I absolutely loved the focused workshops for Blues and Motown. Having those genres reflected in the party music made the experience feel very cohesive. The event also offered auditions, which helped keep the class levels well-balanced. The Venue & Location: This is one of the best venues I have ever seen. It’s spacious and high-quality, and Wels itself is a perfect host city—very easy to navigate and walkable. Organization: Everything ran like clockwork. Workshops and competitions were perfectly on time. The "cosy" size of the event made it feel very personal and inclusive. Music & Late-Night Critique: My only criticism is the music at the end of the nights. Every night, the last DJ set failed to capture a "late-night" vibe due to an over-reliance on experimental tracks and high-energy songs. This caused many people to leave the floor early; almost everyone I spoke with mentioned the same frustration. Transitioning to smoother, more "groovy" sets would keep the social dancing alive much longer. Summary: Aside from the late-night music choices, this is an incredible event. The theme is a breath of fresh air, and the professional organization makes it a pleasure to attend. I’m already looking forward to the next one! P.S. The intermediate spotlight practice session organized by the locals was a really nice and thoughtful addition!

Cosy event in a spectacular location! Wels is a quite cute city close to the mountains and offers nice options for sightseeing and extended stay, but might require advance planning if you travel from abroad and need to take flights. Event has very local, cosy vibe with interesting theme about Music in swing dance :) For sure interesting option if you are looking for something new/different, I would recommend it more for Full Pass to take advantage of the workshops as parties tended to be small and were finishing quite early.
