2026 edition

Swing in Capital was a trial event in Rome, and organised well. As far as i can tell since i came on a party pass. Great shows and parties! Competitions ran accorsing to schedule. The venue and hotel are quite far from the city center, about on hour by bus. But there was a supermarket in the vicinity, which was helpful. I didn't stay in the venue hotel, so can't say much about that. A few pointers: - if you want to visit the city center by public transport, plan ahead; it takes some time to get there - finals after 21:00; it happens a lot, but i'm not a fan.

There was nothing critically bad about the event, I just didn’t have the best experience. I found the floor very sticky and did not enjoy a lot of the music during socials. The second room was so far from the main room that it was very empty. This also made it difficult to warm up for competitions when you were out of earshot of the ballroom and marshalling calls. During workshops there were sound issues with the mics which was unpleasant.

2026 edition

I was very happy with the event organization, I especially enjoyed the workshops! What I did not like was the hotel and its location within Rome. Yes, you can get into the city center somewhat quick, but the area around the hotel is purely residential, so there is not much to explore, besides a few shops and restaurants. Nevertheless, I’m so happy to hear that the event will be continued! 🫶🏻

Amazing staff and so many nice details (the message wall, the gesture workshop). AC was too cold at times especially right outside the classrooms so it was strong change in temperature. Nice hotel with breakfast included and a supermarket nearby, very inconvenient to have only one key for three people. Parties started a bit late in my opinion (maybe do less spotlights) but overall amazing event!!!
