2026 edition

I had a wonderful experience at Swingtzerland. It is clear that every decision made by the organization is focused on creating a social, welcoming environment. I will definitely be back next year. Atmosphere & Community: The vibe is incredibly positive and people are very open to dancing with everyone. The organization’s empathy shows through in their crystal-clear communication via the website and emails. Competition & Schedule: Competitions run smoothly and quickly. This fits the schedule perfectly, allowing non-competitors a couple of hours to rest and recharge. Also, the Swiss cow bells used as trophies are absolutely awesome! Workshops & Levels: These were some of my favorite workshops. The atmosphere was light and positive, likely because the pros aren't stressed by judging or competing. Class sizes were perfect, and the auditions ensured levels were well-balanced. The Venue: Using a large dance school with multiple rooms felt spacious rather than overcrowded. The floor quality was excellent—neither too sticky nor too slippery. Small touches like a microwave in the common space made a huge difference. The Experience & Team: The Event Director and his team are lovely and thoughtful. Out-of-nowhere surprises like free pizza at night made us feel so welcome. It’s an event where you truly feel the "social" in social dancing. Music & Late Night: Having a dedicated late-night floor was a great idea. While I love the theme, the music taste didn't always fit the late-night vibe for me, but it was still nice to have the option. Managing the City: Zurich is expensive, but the organizers sell snacks at the bar for very reasonable prices. Staying at the nearby Ibis also worked well, as the access to a microwave and kettle allowed us to prepare our own meals to avoid the high costs of the city. In summary, this is a beautifully organized event that prioritizes the dancer's experience above everything else.

2025 edition

I had a great time at Swingtzerland! They split the novice level before the start based on the attendees, which made the workshop levels perfect for me. I enjoyed dances until late at night, with many different people who I'd never met before. There is also competitions, but the event is more focused on the workshops and social dancing. Going to the event by public transport was easy. Going back to my room I had less options, because I stayed late. It might help to get a hotel at walking distance from the event.

2026 edition

As a party-pass, late-night dancer, I've gone a couple years in a row because it's one of my favorite events! Very expensive area, but really pretty and great for travel. They have multiple dance floors and great music. They also have cheap hotdogs and snacks at the bar which are amazing for late-night dance fuel. Such a variety of things to do outside of dance too! Oh the chocolate! We had an incident that needed to be reported to the organizers and it was handled appropriately, so that's also great to know it's a safe event that takes cases seriously.

2026 edition

My first event on my own, and I felt very welcomed. Comps were smooth and quick, incredible song choices! I loved the additional workshops non related to wcs, very fun! The venue is great and something I've never experienced before.
